Cookie policy

This policy explains how Dropped Kerb Nottingham (The Driveway Experts) uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, and how you can control them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Sites use them to work properly, to remember your choices, and to understand how they're being used.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. Until you choose Accept, analytics and advertising storage are denied, and no analytics or advertising cookies are set on your device. Declining doesn't change how the site works.

We use Google Consent Mode to respect that choice. While consent is denied, Google's tags can still send basic signals that don't use cookies, such as the fact that a page was viewed. Google uses these to estimate visits and ad results without identifying you. If you arrived from one of our Google ads and have not accepted, details of that ad click may be carried in the page address as you move around the site, instead of being stored in a cookie.

Essential storage

Your answer to the banner is saved in your browser's local storage (under dkn-consent) so we don't ask you again on every page. It is needed to respect your choice, so it doesn't need consent. It is never sent to us.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager to load the tools below. Tag Manager itself doesn't set cookies. It only loads the other tags, and those follow the choice you made in the banner.

Google Analytics (visit statistics)

If you accept, Google Analytics 4 may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. They tell anonymous visitors apart so we can see how many people visit, which pages they look at and how they found us. We use this to improve the site. We don't use it to identify you personally.

Google Ads (conversion measurement)

We advertise on Google. If you accept, Google Ads may set cookies such as _gcl_au and _gcl_aw. These include the conversion linker cookie, which remembers that you arrived from one of our ads. That lets us see whether an ad led to an enquiry, such as a phone call or a completed contact form, so we know which ads are worth running.

When a contact form is sent successfully, the email address and phone number entered in it can be passed to Google in a scrambled (hashed) form to help match the enquiry to an ad click. This only happens if you have accepted cookies.

Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session recordings)

If you accept, we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our pages, through heatmaps of where people click and scroll, and recordings of visits. It may set cookies such as _clck and _clsk. Clarity masks text typed into form fields, so it doesn't record what you enter. Microsoft handles this data under its own privacy statement, at privacy.microsoft.com.

How Google uses this data

For how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's explanation and its privacy policy.

Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below, or the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings, which removes your saved choice and brings the banner back.
