Our tarmac specification.
The build-up matters more than the surface you see. This is exactly what we install:
- 1 Excavate the existing surface down to a suitable load-bearing strata.
- 2 Lay a Terram weed barrier.
- 3 Compacted Type 1 MOT road stone sub-base to a minimum depth of 150mm, with grading and new ACO channel drains where necessary.
- 4 Install 80–100mm of 20mm base tarmac.
- 5 Top layer of 6mm SMA (stone mastic asphalt) with a rolled finish.
- 6 Block paved or pin kerb edging.
- 7 Site cleaned and all debris removed.
